Today my Godson, Dylan, was baptized. The service was very nice. While I did get a little misty, I did not cry my eyes out. Dylan looked so handsome in his satin white outfit. He had cuffed pants, a white dress shirt, and white socks with crosses on them. He also had a vest with matching tie that had a shiny white paisley pattern on them. Jeff’s best friend, Jon, was the Godfather. Jeff is Jon’s daughter, Carmella’s, Godfather. Dylan was good during the actual baptism, but got hungry during church and Jeff had to take him in the back to give him his bottle. After church, we went to my mom’s for a party. There were about 25 people or so. Laura and my mom ordered food from Stancato’s: Belgian waffles, hash browns, eggs with cheese and ham, and breakfast pizza with eggs cheese and bacon. They also got 5 rolls (nut, poppyseed, and apple) from Barano’s Bakery. Aunt Lori got bagels from Panera, and Marie and I made muffins. We had so much food! We’ll be eating brunch for weeks to come. Thanks to everyone who did so much to help. I borrowed chairs and tables from several people, Marie snuck out of church early to let the caterers in, light candles, etc. Also, yesterday, she painted my nails since I can’t see—much appreciated. Here’s quite a few pictures. I couldn’t decide which ones not to post, so there are several. Our professional photographer, Uncle Tom, took a lot of pictures too. I’m sure we’ll be posting more soon!

Thanks everyone for all the help. Especially Lori, Linnie, Marie, and Mom and Dad. We had a great time. It was a nice celebration. I'm proud of you Lin for not getting too misty.

Can I ask a probably silly question? Are baptisms a private thing because we haven't been told about any of the nieces and nephews or great nieces and nephews baptisms. I know we are not of the same faith but would love to honor the event too. Anyway now that Lea is getting back up and around I have something for Dylan. He sure is a little doll. I know Auntie and Uncle are twiterpayted but how far gone is Grandma and Grandpa? I know Doug and I are totally mush when it comes to the grandkids. Nothing better in the whole world!

We don’t consider baptisms private, that’s why we put pictures on the blog. But, it’s not as formal as a shower so we don’t send formal invitations or announcements out. We didn’t mean to exclude anyone.
As happy as Mark and I for Laura and Jeff, yes - both sets of grandparents are ecstatic. Dylan is the first grandchild for each of them.
we only invited the immediate family to celebrate Dylan's baptism. We didn't invite my friends which is 8 couples. We had a beauitful day so sunny but very cold. We just had to set a limited of people to fit everybody in the house. The Sancato's brunch food was soo soo good. We had good news that day from Marie and Ray - they got engaged!! I cried! I was so happy for them, such nice guys. I am having fun with Dylan now he smiles and coos. so sweet and he see you too.
